Evolve to host mental health workshops for senior teaching staff

Evolve are inviting senior teaching staff to join them at a series of workshops they are hosting across the country next month, providing informative and thought-provoking sessions focusing on improving the mental health and wellbeing of pupils and staff.
The workshops – from October 18th to 20th – will be run in conjunction with Independent Thinking, one of the partners with Evolve in The Being Well Agenda, a multi-disciplinary project for primary schools across the UK that aims to create a nation of children who are happy and healthy.

“This is a great opportunity for teaching staff, heads and deputy heads to build on their knowledge of the health and wellbeing agenda,” explained Evolve Managing Director John Bishop.
“Everyone who attends will benefit from a number of practical ideas that they will be able to take away with them and use in their own school.”
These workshops will include talks from Dave Harris (author of Brave Heads and Leadership Dialogues) and Nina Jackson, whose session is entitled ‘There isn’t a plaster for that – positive steps towards mental health’.
To bring a local flavour to each event, the hosting headteacher will also deliver a case study of approaches that they have used to address increasing mental health issues amongst staff and pupils.
Evolve will highlight ways in which schools use their services to address these issues before finishing the evening with a Q&A discussion followed by networking opportunities.
The schedule of workshops, which will start at 4pm and finish at 7pm, is:
October 18th – Cardiff‬‬‬‬
October 19th – Birmingham
October 20th – Nottingham
The events are open to staff from all schools, including those who are not currently part of the Evolve network. Places at these workshops are limited, so please email hannah.thurlby@evolvesi.com to request a booking form at your earliest convenience.
