Evolve’s wellbeing mission bolstered by new advisory board

An advisory board has been formed for Evolve with a membership that has vast experience in the education, health, charity, communication and business sectors.
The aim is to provide Evolve with the level of governance and robustness required to take the social enterprise to the next stage of growth; to reach more schools; make a bigger difference to the lives of children; and to further their mission of having an Evolve Health Mentor in every school.
Members share a belief in Evolve’s ethos of developing emotional and physical wellbeing as a platform to be successful in life, and add a unique blend of skills and expertise to the wider Evolve team.

Acting chair Steve Leach said: “The board’s role is wide-ranging and includes the formation and monitoring of strategy; overseeing the operational delivery to promote honesty, integrity and safety; providing challenge and support to management, and holding them to account; and providing advice and reassurance in equal measure.
“In addition, the board will provide a useful role in providing information and connections. In implementing a sound model of governance and having it operate effectively, Evolve will make itself rightly more attractive to customers, funders and investors.”
Mr Leach, a consultant to leaders of social ventures, said his involvement is driven by a belief that children need the emotional support provided by Evolve.
“Life is too fluid and changeable for learning by rote. Having the confidence to take on the new and the challenging is far more useful in today’s and tomorrow’s world.
“I also have a tremendous respect for the directors, John and Graham, having known them for some time and having seen the passion and commitment they share. Although board members come from different backgrounds, we all have the heart and mind to help Evolve do even more good in the world.”
Currently, the board’s members also include charity consultant Lisa Gagliani MBE; Make-a-Wish Foundation UK operations director Mark Curtin; Cyan Media managing director Allan Moffat; and The Content Factory director and co-founder Chris Buckley.
