Join the ‘Time to Talk’ movement on Thursday 1st February

Thursday 1st February is Time to Change’s ‘Time to Talk Day’, an initiative we will be supporting at the turn of the month.
Statistics show that one in four people will experience some form of mental health problem during their lifetime. However, a large quantity of that figure are often either too worried to talk about their situation or simply have nobody they feel they can turn to.
Yet Time to Talk Day is in an initiative designed to get people talking about mental health and the stigma associated with anxiety, stress and depression. In Time to Change’s words, ‘it’s a day that brings the nation together to get talking and break the silence around mental health problems.’
Hosted on the first Thursday of February, the initiative has been gathering pace since it was introduced in 2014. Last year, the hashtag #timetotalk went viral with a host of global names from all walks of life supporting the cause.
This year, we will be encouraging you to join the positive movement by asking for individuals to step forward with their stories of overcoming mental health problems and how speaking out helped them. You never know, someone in need of support may just see your post and it could make a huge difference. Follow @Evolve_Impact on Twitter to keep updated.
Meanwhile, our Health Mentors will be continuing their journeys in primary schools to support the mental and emotional health and wellbeing of young people. With teachers inundated with workload and deadlines, our specially trained staff provide the time and resources to support individuals in need from a young age.
Numerous free materials have also been made available by the Time to Change team. Ensure you take a few minutes to visit their website and find out how you can support such a positive and worthwhile initiative.
